Richard P. Conte Sr.

Richard P. Conte Sr. 78, of Altoona, passed away Saturday, March 8, 2025, at home unexpectedly, where he wanted to be, surrounded by family. He was born on June 29, 1946, in Altoona, the son of the late John B. and Susan M. (Nardelli) Conte. Surviving is his loving wife of 56 years, Sharon M. Conte; his son, Richard P. Conte Jr., his daughter, Angela M. Conte; special grandson, Creed Jude Conte; Three granddaughters, Nevaeh, Mirah, and Adeline Conte; Siblings, John Conte (Mary), Frances Balestino, Carol Schmittle, Susan Monroe (James), Louis and Robert Conte; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Richard was preceded in death by his son, Andrew Conte, his brother, Anthony Conte, and his Stepmother, Olga Conte. Richard was a 1964 graduate of Altoona High School. He served in the US. Navy during Vietnam, retired from the Butterick Company, is a member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church, and enjoyed woodworking. A funeral Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, March 18, 2025, at 10: 30a.m at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church, Altoona. Fr. Patrick Corrigan celebrant.
